DSME Delivers Newbuild Ultra Deepwater Drillship to Transocean



South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME) delivered Wednesday an ultra deepwater drillship to Transocean Ltd., local business media Pulse reported Thursday.

The company indicated Wednesday in a filing with Korea Exchange that it has completed a construction contract, worth $505.8 million (KRW 563 billion) for an unnamed firm, with the vessel believed to be Deepwater Conqueror (UDW drillship)

According to Transocean, newbuild Deepwater Conqueror has a 5 year drilling contract with Chevron Corp. in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico commencing in the fourth quarter of 2016.
