STG Completes Pipelay, Construction Project for Chevron Nigeria

Sea Trucks Group (STG) has completed a pipelay and construction campaign as part of the Sonam Field Development Project for Chevron Nigeria Ltd.

Located in shelf concession OML 91, Escravos Area, offshore Nigeria, in water depths ranging from 22 feet around Okan to 216 feet at Sonam, the project included a variety of work. As part of the campaign, a jacket, deck, bridge and piles were transported and installed at Okan, 20 miles of pipeline were installed between Sonam and Okan and risers and subsea spools were fabricated and installed at the two sites.

The contract for the project was awarded to West African Ventures Ltd (WAV), Sea Trucks' principle Nigerian business in June 2015. Installation engineering activities and the preparations of project management documentation commenced immediately while field installation started with the pre-lay survey in November 2015.

"I am delighted that the entire campaign was an overall success,” said Jacques J. Roomans, STG/WAV President and CEO, in a company statement.

“It was delivered within our client's budget and technical specification. I am proud that the project team of West African Ventures was commended by Chevron for strongly aligning with their commitment to an incident and injury free campaign,” he added.
