Technip Wins Contract for Norne Work from Statoil

Statoil has awarded Technip Offshore Norge AS a contract related to the sub sea portion of the Norne Satellites Project in the Norwegian part of the North Sea. The contract, valued at approximately EUR 10.8 million (NOK 90 million), includes fabrication and installation of a 9 km long 12,6 inch internal diameter (ID) production flowline and a 12 km long 5 inch ID gas lift flowline. The production flowline will be cladded internally with 316L stainless steel and installed with a heat tracing cable. This will be the first clad pipe installed using the reel pipelay method.

The project engineering will be performed at Technip's Oslo office. The flowlines will be fabricated at the Group's welding base in Orkanger and installed by the Apache vessel during summer 2005.

Carl Holmen, Managing Director of Technip Offshore Norge AS, stated: "This new contract illustrates Technip's leading market position for sub sea pipeline installation and new technology development. Following recent awards, Kristin, Snohvit and Asgard Q to Technip, this new contract acknowledges our long lasting relationship and co-operation with Statoil."
