Statoil Petroleum AS has made a minor gas/condensate discovery in well 30/11-13, located in the North Sea.

The well encountered gas columns at two levels in the top part of the Tarbert formation, a total of 16 feet and 101 feet, respectively, of which 13 and 72 feet had good to moderate reservoir properties.

The preliminary estimation of the size of the discovery is between 35 and 105 million standard cubic feet of recoverable oil equivalents. The discovery will be included in the evaluation of a new field development along with previous discoveries in the area.

Well 30/11-13 was drilled to a vertical depth of 10,869 feet below the sea surface and was terminated in the Ness formation. It is the fourth exploration well in production license 272, of which Statoil is the operator.
