Vallourec Tube-Alloy Opens Singapore Plant as it Expands in Asia Pacific
France's Vallourec Tube-Alloy, a wholly-owned Vallourec unit specialized in the production and repair of accessories for oil and gas wells, reported Friday the opening of Vallourec Tube-Alloy Asia-Pacific, a new plant in Singapore.
The new facility in Singapore will support the company's oil country tubular good (OCTG) activities by expanding Vallourec Tube-Alloy's geographic footprint, currently centered on 4 production facilities in the U.S.
The new site, located in northern Singapore, will specialize in threading VAM premium connections on wellhead and completion equipment, and in manufacturing turnkey OCTG accessories. The plant, manned by 50 engineers and technicians, is well positioned to support Singapore-based oil and gas equipment manufacturers as well as operators located in the region, whose projects require high added-value tubular solutions. The plant has an annual capacity of 25,000 threads,.
"Considering the strategic importance of the Asia-Pacific zone for its markets, Vallourec is now strengthening its long-term position in the Singapore region, a major oil & gas hub, ready to develop its services and match its customers’ requirements as closely as possible," Olivier Mathey, vice president of Vallourec Tube-Alloy Asia Pacific, said in Friday's media release.
