CEPSA Commences Drilling at Tarach-1 in Kenya Block 11A

CEPSA has commenced drilling at the Tarach-1 well in Kenya Block 11A, according to its operating partner in the country, ERHC Energy Kenya Ltd.

The Tarach-1 well will be drilled to a total depth of 9,842 feet. ERHC states that the Tarach-1 prospect’s mean estimate of oil prospective unrisked resources is 66 million barrels of oil and that mean unrisked prospective resources of all prospects and leads in Block 11A totals 662 million barrels.

CEPSA holds a 55 percent interest in Block 11A. ERHC holds a 35 percent stake and the state-run National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK) holds the remaining 10 percent interest.
