Total Manager Probed for Influence Peddling in Italian Oil Field Case
BARI, Italy, April 1 (Reuters) - Italian prosecutors are investigating a manager of French oil major Total for possible influence peddling to secure permits to develop an oil field in southern Italy, according to a legal document seen by Reuters.
The document names the man as Giuseppe Corbianchi, who according to Total's website is the company's representative in the Italian city of Potenza.
Total's press office in Paris said it would not be commenting on the case, which has already brought about the resignation of Italian Industry Minister Federica Guidi.
The head of Total's press office in Italy was not immediately available for comment.
