Woodside Acquires CSD Software Licenses from Norway's Completion Services

Norway's Completion Services disclosed Wednesday that after a thorough evaluation the Australian oil company Woodside Petroleum has chosen to buy license to use the firm's Completion String Design (CSD) software. Woodside Petroleum has operation and interests globally and is the largest oil and gas operator in Australia. It is personnel at the Woodside Petroleum main office in Perth that has chosen to invest in CSD to handle all well schematics in one centralized database and at the same time take care of both well history and well related documentation.

Gard Karlsen, managing director and co-founder says “It is extremely exciting to get a new customer in Australia. Oil Search Limited in Sydney is already using CSD but I think that the fact that Woodside Petroleum in the oil capital Perth has chosen CSD will be noticed in the Australian market. I’m also pleased to see that Woodside Petroleum has understood that collecting well schematics and well data in one centralized can save them both time and money. This comes in handy as the oil price is still hovering around $50 per barrel. I’m also very pleased to see that we have gotten several new customers in 2015 despite the fact that the oil and gas sector has a strong focus on cost cutting. The majority of Norwegian operators are already using CSD so it is only natural that our new customers in 2015 are in countries such as Denmark, Nigeria, Malaysia and Australia.”

Installation at Woodside Petroleum will take place in December and the implementation project will carry on into the first few months of 2016.
