Zeta Petroleum CEO Steps Down
Romania-focused energy company Zeta Petroleum plc announced Wednesday that Andy Morrison stepped down as the company’s chief executive on October 12, in order to pursue “other business interests”.
Morrison, who joined Zeta as CEO last year, has agreed to continue supporting the company in the short term as an unpaid adviser to the board. The ex-Zeta CEO started his career in oil and gas in 1982 at Shell, where he stayed for 17 years before moving to BG Group. Morrison has also previously worked for BOC Group plc, Xtract Energy plc and Silvermere Energy plc.
Commenting on the management change, Stephen West, non-executive chairman of Zeta, said in a company statement:
"I would like to thank Andy for the contribution he has made to the company since joining us as CEO in May 2014, and wish him all the best with his other business endeavours. In the short term our very experienced board will provide cover for this executive function."
