Lamprell Appoints New COO
UAE-based offshore engineering services firm Lamprell announced Monday that it has promoted Niall O'Connell into the role of chief operating officer with immediate effect.
O'Connell joined Lamprell in April 2013 as vice president of projects and since October 2014 he has been its vice president and general manager for new-build jack-up rigs. He has 20 years' experience in the sector, which includes seven years with KBT and 12 at Cape Industrial Services.
Commenting on the appointment, Lamprell CEO James Moffat said:
"Niall has been instrumental in the Group's robust performance in our new build jack-up rigs business, demonstrating his strong management skills and clear focus on delivery. In the COO role, he will continue to be a key contributor to the group's ongoing performance and I am confident that we will benefit from his solid sector expertise and regional experience in the implementation of our long term strategy."
In August, Lamprell announced that Moffat will retire as CEO at the end of June next year.
