Singapore's EMAS Offshore Names Adarash Kumar as CEO, Replaces Jon Dunstan

Singapore's EMAS Offshore Limited, a services provider offering offshore support, accommodation, construction and production services to the oil and gas industry, appointed Friday Capt. Adarash Kumar A/L Chranji Lal Amarnath as its new CEO, replacing Jon Dunstan, who has resigned to pursue interests outside of the firm.

Capt. Kumar, 55, has more than 25 years of experience in the marine industry. Before his apppointment as EMAS Offshore CEO, he was Ezra Holdings Limited’s Group chief operating officer. EMAS Offshore is a division of Ezra.

Prior to joining Ezra, Capt. Kumar was an assistant general manager at Malaysia-based offshore support services provider Bumi Armada Navigation Sdn Bhd, where he was in charge of operations. He also held various positions onboard vessels while working for the Malaysian International Shipping Corporation. Capt. Kumar is a qualified Master Mariner and holds a Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship issued by the Malaysian Marine Department.

“With his vast number of years of experience in the offshore industry, Capt. Kumar is a strong business leader we are fortunate to have in today’s challenging oil and gas environment. He will be able to bring strategic insights to drive EMAS Offshore’s performance, maintain our leading position in Asia, and penetrate West Africa, which we have identified as a key market for us to grow in,” EMAS Offshore Executive Chairman Lee Kian Soo said in the press release.

Former CEO Dunston will however remain with EMAS Offshore to handover and assist Capt. Kumar until February 2016.

Capt. Kumar has stepped down from Ezra as an executive director of its Board and his position as Group chief operating officer, to fully concentrate on his new role with EMAS Offshore.
