Aker Solutions CEO Says Risks Further Staff Cuts

OSLO, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Norwegian oil services firm Aker Solutions could be forced to cut jobs again unless markets recover, Chief Executive Luis Araujo said during an oil and offshore services conference in Oslo on Wednesday.

On Tuesday the company announced that it would cut 500 jobs in its Norwegian subsea technology unit. The layoffs come on top of 900 cuts by Aker Solutions earlier this year.

Araujo made the following statement:

"We will continue to keep a close eye on market development and make adjustments [to the workforce] if necessary."
