Wintershall Norge Secures Drilling Permit for Well 10/4-1 Offshore Norway

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate announced Tuesday that it has awarded Wintershall Norge AS a drilling permit for well 10/4-1, located in production license 734 offshore Norway.

The permit is contingent upon the Wintershall Norge securing all other consents and permits required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activity. Well 10/4-1 will be drilled using the Borgland Dolphin (MW semisub). This will be the first exploration well in production license 734.

Wintershall Norge is the operator of production license 734 with a 40 percent interest. Centrica Resources and Lundin Norway each hold a 30 percent interest.
