CNOOC: Dongfang1-1 Project Ahead of Schedule
China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced Thursday that its Dongfang1-1 gas field Phase I adjustment project has commenced production ahead of schedule.
The project is expected to raise the production rate at the site from its current 53 million cubic feet of gas per day output to 54 million cubic feet per day. As part of the project, a wellhead platform has been built on the existing facilities of Dongfang1-1, which is located in the Yinggehai Basin of Beibu Gulf in the South China Sea.
The Dongfang1-1 is an independent gas field containing seven producing wells in total. CNOOC holds a 100 percent interest in the site and acts as operator.
