RCP Signs Supply Contract with Awilco Drilling

Scotland-headquartered RCP has signed a six figure contract to supply control systems to Awilco Drilling’s (AWDR) WilPhoenix (MW semisub).

As part of the deal, AWDR’s rig will be fitted with upgraded technology such as a new blowout preventer (BOP) control system with touchscreen HMIs, a BOP event logger that monitors BOP performance, new BOP control panels and a full HPHT system upgrade which includes a gate valve control system.

RCP Managing Director Ben Knight commented in a company statement:

“RCP enjoy an excellent working relationship with Awilco Drilling and work closely with the WilPhoenix management team, who actively participate in the design process of the systems supplied. We have built a strong relationship with the drilling contractor through consistently providing a reliable and high quality service, using our team of in-house specialist engineers, PLC and software programmers.

“All of our systems are designed to be easily upgraded and are therefore a far more cost effective option for our clients, particularly in this challenging market. The advanced technology that our team has installed on the WilPhoenix will serve well for the next decade and more and we are confident in winning similar contracts throughout 2015, both in the North Sea and internationally.”
