ExxonMobil Opens Upstream Technical Training Center

ExxonMobil has opened its new 100,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Upstream Technical Training Center on the ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company campus in Houston. The ribbon-cutting ceremony concluded 15 months of construction and ushered in a new era in training for the world's largest non-governmental oil company.

"The opening of this new Upstream Training Center shows ExxonMobil's unparalleled commitment to develop and apply industry-leading technology for maximum business value," said Rex Tillerson, president Exxon Mobil Corporation. "This next step in ExxonMobil's industry leading training and development program will help the corporation continue to attract and retain the highest skilled workforce in the industry in our relentless pursuit of breakthrough performance."

The training center will serve more than 4,000 students annually from across ExxonMobil's exploration, development, production, gas and research businesses, and also will be available to assist key business partners with their training needs. It features built-for-purpose, multi-use classrooms with the high performance audio-visual equipment.

In addition to having distance learning capabilities, the center includes an interactive visualization training laboratory, a suite dedicated to collaborative learning and training staff offices.
