Hoidi Lands COSL's Jackup Leg Construction Contract

Hoidi International Pte Ltd., a Singapore-based jackup leg specialist, disclosed Monday that its production division, Tianjin Hoidi Group Co. Ltd. have signed a Gusto MSC CJ50-X120-E rig leg component fabrication and construction contract for the China Oilfield Services Ltd. (COSL) HYSY944 CJ50 Project with China Merchant Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.

The scope includes the fabrication, installation, erection and construction of a complete set of legs for the HYSY 944 Gusto MSC CJ50-X120-E project, a jackup with a maximum operating depth of 400 feet and drilling depth of 30,000 feet. The high specification CJ50 jackup’s main leg component, rack and chord, will be made up of EQ70 special grade steel that can operate in minus 20 degree Centigrade waters, and suitable for North Sea usage.

Delivery of the HSYS944 is planned in 2016, and according to COSL’s statement in a press release ” HYSY944 is CNOOC’s first large pile shoe jackup, which will fill the vacuum in the Group’s equipment for operations on soft formation”.
