Pertamina Officially Appoints Muhamad Husen as Acting CEO
PT Pertamina’s (Persero) board of commissioners has officially appointed the Indonesian national oil company’s upstream director, Muhamad Husen, as its acting president director & CEO effective from Oct. 1, succeeding Karen Agustiawan, who tendered her resignation in August.
"The appointment was mentioned in the Interim President Director Appointment Letter No. 289/K/DK/2014 dated Sept. 30. Pertamina’s board of commissioners also sent a letter to the State-Owned Enterprise Minister as the company’s shareholders’ meeting on that appointment," Pertamina said in a press release Wednesday.
Under Pertamina's constitution, the company's board of commissioner has the right to appoint a member of its board of directors to be the acting president director & CEO. Muhamad Husen will remain in his position until Pertamina decides at a shareholders’ meeting on a permanent appointment.
The incoming administration of newly-elected president Joko Widodo will decide on a permanent president director & CEO for Pertamina after it takes office Oct. 20.
Early last month, Indonesia's State-Owned Enterprise Minister Dahlan Iskan told local media that Pertamina's director for investment planning and risk management Afdal Bahaudin has been selected by the firm's board of commissioners to be the interim president director & CEO.
