Pertamina Selects Afdal Bahaudin as Interim CEO
Indonesia's state-owned PT Pertamina has selected Afdal Bahaudin, the firm's director for investment planning and risk management, as interim CEO after Karen Agustiawan steps down next month, the country's State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said, as reported in local daily Jakarta Globe Wednesday.
“I’ve heard that [Pertamina’s] board of commissioners selected Afdal as the temporary replacement,” Dahlan said.
Whether Afdal Bahaudin -- the most senior of Pertamina's director who had served as finance director from 2010 to 2011 before taking over the investment planning and risk management portfolio -- will be a permanent replacement for Karen Agustiawan will be decided by the incoming administration of newly elected president Joko Widodo .
“It is up to the next government,” Dahlan added.
Current CEO Karen Agustiawan will leave Pertamina on Oct. 1 to assume a research position focusing on energy-related issues at Harvard University in the United States.
