KrisEnergy Completes Drilling at Mancharee-1 Well in Gulf of Thailand
KrisEnergy Ltd. (KrisEnergy or the Company), an independent upstream oil and gas company, reported Monday that drilling operations have concluded at the Mancharee-1 exploration commitment well in G10/48 in the Gulf of Thailand, where the Company is developing the Wassana oil field.
Mancharee-1, which commenced drilling Aug. 8, reached a total depth at 12,205 feet (3,720 meters) measured depth, or 10,460 feet (3,188 meters) true vertical depth subsea. Gas shows were encountered at several levels but no significant pay zones were identified.
Water depth at the well location is 170 feet (51.8 meters). Mancharee-1, the final commitment well in the third exploration phase of the license, was drilled using the jackup West Cressida (375' ILC) owned by Seadrill Far East Limited.
KrisEnergy holds 100 percent working interest in G10/48 which covers 1,813 square miles (4,696 square kilometers) over the southern section of the Pattani Basin in water depths up to 196 feet (60 meters). As well as the Wassana oil development, the block also contains the Niramai and Mayura oil discoveries.
