Petronas Demobilizes Employees in Iraq to Dubai Amid Security Concerns

Malaysia's state-owned Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) announced Wednesday that the company has demobilized 28 of its 166 employees in Iraq to Dubai following the current security situation in the country. Out of the 28, 18 are Malaysians.

However, 95 employees who are categorized as critical personnel remain in Iraq to manage its operations and all are safe and accounted for. Meanwhile, the remaining employees are in the process of being demobilized.

Petronas is monitoring the situation very closely and is in constant communication with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Malaysian Embassy in Jordan.

It has identified the mitigation efforts and is ready to take all the necessary measures should the situation worsen.
