Max Scores Success at East Kyzylzhar I Field

Central Asia-focused Max Petroleum reported Thursday that it has achieved further success on its East Kyzylzhar I Field in Kazakhstan, with the KZIE-4 appraisal well finding 49 feet of net oil pay in two Jurassic reservoirs.

Max described the reservoir quality as "excellent" with porosities ranging from 30 percent to 36 percent. The firm is currently setting production casing in the well and will begin testing it soon.

The Zhanros ZJ-30 rig will now move to drill the KZIE-3 appraisal well before moving onto the Zhana Makat field.
