Neptune Marine Services Wins a Survey, ROV Contract for Ichthys LNG Project
Neptune Marine Services Ltd., a provider of services and engineering solutions to the petroleum indutsry, won a survey and ROV (remotely operated vehicles) contract from McDermott recently for the Ichthys LNG Project off Western Australia. McDermott is the appointed main contractor for the subsea umbilical, riser, flowline project for Inpex.
Expected to commence early May, the initial phase will include pre-lay survey of the field, installation of eight LBL acoustic positioning arrays and the provision of one of Neptune’s Swift XL Work Class ROVs.
“We are pleased to be awarded this contract. Our Geomatics business has considerable experience on the Ichthys Project, having previously completed the pipeline route survey, the longest of its kind in Australia, along with a number of other near shore and offshore site investigations for other clients. It is a significant accomplishment to be awarded further works as the project progresses,” said Robin King, Neptune’s CEO.
