Sembcorp Marine Appoints Former Petronas CEO as Chairman
Sembcorp Marine Ltd. appointed Mohd Hassan Marican, a former president and CEO of Malaysia's national petroleum company Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), as chairman to succeed Goh Geok Ling, who will step down at the firm's Annual General Meeting (AGM) April 22.
Mohd Hassan Marican, appointed deputy chairman by Sembcorp Marine's Board of Directors in October 2011, will also assume Goh's role as the chairman of both the Executive Committee and Executive Resource & Compensation Committee as well as a member of the Nominating Committee.
"I am pleased that Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican will be succeeding me as chairman of the Board following my retirement as Chairman and Director of the Board at the AGM April 22. With his extensive experience in the oil and gas industry coupled with his vast knowledge in finance and management, Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican is well-positioned to steer Sembcorp Marine into its next phase of growth and transformation,” Goh said in a company release Wednesday.
