TAQA Restarts Production at its Harding Platform

UK North Sea-based TAQA Bratani reported late Tuesday that it has restarted production at its Harding platform after shutting it down when a worker died after falling from the structure on February 27.

The worker, who has since been named as George Bartlett, a 62-year old from North Lanarkshire, Scotland, was carrying out maintenance work on the Harding platform when he fell at 2:17am (UK time) last Thursday. Despite being rescued from the sea and flown to Gilbert Bain hospital on the Shetland Islands, he later died.

TAQA said that the Harding platform, situated around 200 miles northeast of Aberdeen, is currently being up-manned for routine operations. More than 100 personnel usually work on the 12,000 barrel-per-day platform.
