CoFlexip Stena Offshore Awarded SBM Contract Offshore Nigeria
Coflexip Stena Offshore has been awarded through Single Buoy Moorings (SBM) significant part of the mooring and installation package for Shell Nigeria Exploration & Production Company's Bonga field development. This field is located in OML 118 some 75 miles offshore Nigeria's Niger Delta South West coastline in 3,600 feet of water. The field is operated by SNEPCO (55%) on behalf of Nigerian National Petroleum Company in partnership with Esso Exploration and Production Company Nigeria Ltd (20%), Nigeria Agip Exploration Ltd (12.2%) and Elf Petroleum Nigeria Ltd (12.5%).
CSO International's scope will cover project management, engineering, procurement, transportation and installation of three dynamic 19" ID flexible oil offloading risers, each 2.3 km long (7,010 ft), for installation between the FPSO and the Single Point Mooring buoy. This will constitute the first use in the world of flexibles of such a length as export risers, between an FPSO and an offloading buoy. These 19" ID flexible risers will be manufactured at the Group's Le Trait plant in Normandy, France, during the autumn of 2002, and are designed to withstand over 20 years of service.
In addition, CSO's work includes the project management, engineering and installation in 3,600 feet of water of more than 34 miles of gas lift risers and control umbilicals together with the installation of 5 large manifolds, each weighing 140t.
Coflexip Stena Offshore International will carry out the offshore works during the summer of 2003, with the CSO Constructor, which has been upgraded for heavy deepwater works.
