Cambay-77H Well in Gujarat Basin to Be Drilled End Feb-Early March

Oilex Ltd, Australian-based oil and gas explorationa and production company, reported Monday that all the drilling services tenders have now been evaluated and successful contractors are preparing to mobilize to Cambay-77H well at its Cambay Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in the Cambay Basin, Gujarat, India.

Assembly of the Essar LR-4 rig has commenced and components continue to arrive from Mumbai. The estimated spud date window is Feb. 22 to March 9.

The Cambay-77H well will evaluate the production potential of the extensive Eocene “tight” Y Zone reservoir that extends across the 62 square miles (161 square kilometers) Cambay PSC contract area. The well, which includes a 1,148 foot (350 meter) lateral section with 8 fracture stimulations to test the deliverability of the Y zone. Services associated with fracture stimulation and production testing are currently being finalized.
