Petrofac Director Becomes Kosmos Energy CEO
Oilfield engineering services supplier Petrofac announced Monday that Andy Inglis, chief executive of its Integrate Energy Services business, is leaving the company to become chairman and chief executive at independent oil company Kosmos Energy.
Inglis will leave Petrofac at the end of February in order to take up his new position in Dallas, Texas.
In a company statement, Petrofac Group Chief Executive Ayman Asfari said:
"Andy has made a significant and lasting impact on Petrofac's success. The growth of the IES business, which has seen a three-fold increase in net profit in just three years, is testament to his achievements and he leaves with our gratitude and best wishes for the future.
"IES is now a business of scale with a clear strategy to deliver operational excellence, commercial innovation and bespoke offerings to new and existing clients, and I look forward to working with Rob and the team to take the business forward."
Petrofac said its current managing director of developments for its IES business, Rob Jewkes, will assume the role of chief operating officer for the unit. He will report directly Ayman Asfari, who will oversee the IES business.
The firm said that Jewkes has been in his current role for five years and has been with Petrofac since 2004. He has an engineering and project management background and has 35 years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
