PTSC M&C Clinches EPCIC Contract for Su Tu Nau Project in Block 15-1

PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation's unit Petroleum Mechanical & Construction Services (PTSC M&C) clinched an engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contract from the Cuu Long Joint Operating Company (CLJOC) for the Su Tu Nau field development to the north of Block 15-1 off Vietnam.

The Su Tu Nau field, being developed using two unmanned four-pile wellhead platforms tied back to existing infrastructure, is expected to produce approximately 50,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and 50,000 barrels of liquid per day.

Workscope under the Su Tu Nau contract covers detailed engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation, hook-up and commissioning of two wellhead platforms namely Su Tu Nau North and Su Tu Nau South. In addition, PTSC M&C will provide modification work for existing platforms (WHP-A, WHP-B, Su Tu Vang Central Processing Platform) and 37-mile (60-kilometers) of pipeline.

The project is scheduled for completion within 18 months. The offshore installation campaign involves two phases. Two jackets were successfully installed in October 2013 ahead of CLJOC’s early drilling campaign in 2013, while topsides and pipelines are planned will be installed in August 2014.

Partners in the CLJOC are Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), Perenco, Korean National Oil Corp., SK Corp. and Geopetrol Vietnam SA.

Meanwhile, PTSC M&C is currently working on the Su Tu Vang South West Project being developed by CLJOC in Block 15-1. Detailed engineering and procurement for the project, which was carried out at PTSC M&C’s office in Vung Tau City, is tentatively scheduled for completion in 3Q 2014.

"The contract signing ceremony ... marks an important milestone for the Su Tu Nau Project," PTSC M&C said in a press release.
