Norsk Hydro drilled a duster on block 6305/9-1 in production license 252 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The wildcat well is located southeast of the Ormen Lange Field and was drilled by Transocean Sedco Forex’s semisubmersible, Transocean Arctic to a total depth of 8,632 feet below sea level in approximately 577 feet of water. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reported that no hydrocarbons were detected in the well, which has now been permanently plugged and abandoned.
