Sonangol May Invest in Vietnamese Oil, Gas Projects
Angolan oil and gas firm Sonangol (Sociedad Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola) may soon start oil exploration and production activities in Vietnam following agreements signed by the governments of Angola and Vietnam.
According to an Angolan Press Agency (Angop) report, Angolan Oil Minister Botelho de Vasconcelos noted Angola and Vietnam has been cooperating on oil and gas since 2008 but now conditions have been put in place for oil explorers in both countries to get the institutional support needed to identify various projects.
Vietnam's Foreign Minister, Pham Binh Minh, is currently on a two-day visit to Angola to meet oil ministers and other members of the Angolan government.
