Chevron Suspends Some Production in U.S. Gulf

Chevron Corp. reported it had suspended relatively small amounts of crude oil and natural gas production as Tropical Storm Barry moved through the Gulf of Mexico. As of Friday afternoon Chevron had shut in' gross production of 7,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil and 28 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of natural gas. Chevron had evacuated 1,200 workers from offshore oil and gas production platforms in the Gulf, and expected to evacuate some of the 470 workers who remained offshore.
