Omega Opens New Houston Center

Omega Well Monitoring, the market-leader in downhole memory and permanent gauges, opened a new repair and calibration center in Houston as part of a company-wide investment to support growth in the Americas. The new center, which will service the United States and Latin America, is a sister facility to a similar center in Calgary.

The Houston location allows the company to deliver faster turnaround and reduced shipping costs for repairs and calibration of Omega’s market-leading downhole memory and permanent gauges. This, in turn, will have a positive impact on the delivery schedule of the Calgary center.

"We are delighted with our new Houston Center," said Dan Skibinski, Omega Managing Director - Americas. "The new facility demonstrates Omega’s continuing commitment to our customers in the Americas and provides us with the capacity to grow our share of the downhole memory tools servicing market in the region."

The facility is well positioned to service regional growth in the United States. The new center recently managed the installation of four permanent monitoring systems with Talisman Energy USA in the Eagle Ford shale play.

"Omega has installed over 1200 systems worldwide, but these are the first installations in this growing play," said Omega USA Account Manager, Amy Dangas. "We are excited about moving into the Eagle Ford South Texas region. This is a new play for us and represents an opportunity to prove our tools in this environment. We’ve recognized the growth in Texas and our new facility in Houston will help us support our customers here."

Product lines serviced at the new center include Omega’s Shortline, Slimline, Ultra Slimline, La Bomba and Frac memory tools, as well as its permanent pressure gauges and pressure pilot gauges. Omega is also planning to develop the facility as a sales center to expand its offerings in the future.

The specialist center is located at Corpro’s Houston headquarters at 14103 Interdrive West Houston, TX 77032.
