Calvalley Spuds Third Well on Al Roidhat Field

Calvalley Petroleum has completed the Al Roidhat 2 appraisal well and has commenced drilling the third well in the Al Roidhat field (Al Roidhat 3) on Block 9 in Yemen.

The Al Roidhat 2 appraisal well was drilled 60 meters into the basement and encountered a highly porous Saar formation and Kohlan sand. Logs have been submitted for independent petrophysical evaluation. The company intends to production test all the geological horizons encountered in Roidhat 2.

The Al Roidhat 3 well spudded at 6:00 am on April 17th. It is anticipated that the drilling program will last about fifteen days. The objective of the Al Roidhat 3 well is to further delineate the extent of the Al Roidhat, Qishn oil discovery.

The seismic acquisition programs at the 2002 Auqban reef discovery, the Hiswah pool discovery and Al Roidhat pool discovery have now been completed and the seismic crew has moved to acquire additional seismic over the Al Hedba pool.

Production testing of the Al Roidhat 1 exploration well has been completed and technical data submitted to an independent engineering firm for assessment. Test equipment has been mobilized to the Hiswah field and the Company expects to commence production testing of the Hiswah 2 well on April 21st.
