GSPC Books Re-Gasification Capacity at Petronet LNG's Dahej Terminal
India's Petronet LNG (PLL) revealed Sunday that it has inked a 20-year term contract with state-backed Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) to provide 2.25 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) of re-gasification capacity from its Dahej liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal.
In its disclosure, PLL said that part of the 2.25 mtpa capacity will be made available from existing capacity once construction of a second jetty is completed, while the remainder capacity will be from an expanded capacity.
PLL is at present expanding the Dahej LNG terminal to increase its capacity from 10 mmtpa to 15 mmtpa, with the expansion scheduled to be completed by 1Q 2016.
PLL said in its statement that it has also agreed on two other initiatives with GSPC. The first involves connecting the proposed five mmtpa Gangavaram terminal with the Mallavaram-Bhilwara pipeline, the latter a project being built by a consortium led by Gujarat State Petronet. The second involves supplying LNG through compressed natural gas form for transport in the state of Gujarat.
