Pearl Oil to Spud Pathum Well
Pearl Oil is gearing up to commence exploratory drilling on its Pathum-1 well – its third and final well in the Thailand 2012 exploratory drilling campaign.
The rig, ENSCO 85 (300' ILC), is on location and will drill the well in 148 feet of water to a total depth of 8,668 feet. Pearl Oil said that the Pathum-1 well will test the petroleum potential of the fluvial section as the primary target in the southern Sattakut Basin; and is targeting a prospective resource of around 5 million barrels (P mean).
The Pathum prospect is located in the G3/48 concession within the southern Sattakut Basin, about 25 miles northwest of the existing Manora field.
