Caterpillar to Unveil Two New Products at OTC 2012

This year at OTC 2012 in Houston, Texas, Caterpillar Global Petroleum will introduce two new products designed to improve the productivity, efficiency and safety of drilling operations.

The new Dynamic Gas Blending Retrofit Kit provides customers with a cost-effective dual fuel option that will reduce fuel costs and meet changing emissions regulations by utilizing a wide range of gaseous fuels in their existing diesel generator sets.

Also being introduced is the Cat CX48-P2300 transmission, designed specifically for hydraulic fracturing associated with well stimulation and completion. Weighing just 3,873 pounds (1,757 kg), the CX48-2300 is the lightest weight transmission available for frac applications.

In addition to introducing two innovative, relevant products for the industry, Caterpillar will also highlight its expansion into emerging markets over the course of the past 12 months, particularly in Brazil.
