The Ferguson Group Sets Up New Norway Facility

The Ferguson Group, specialists in the rental of containers, accommodation modules and engineering modules to the offshore energy industry around the world, has officially opened its new premises in Norway.

Ferguson Norge AS, the Norwegian division of the Ferguson Group, moved all of its operations into the larger purpose-built facility in Risavika Havn, Stavanger.

The expansion into the new premises allows for growth in the Ferguson Seacabs DNV2.7-1 certified container fleet available in Norway, while its accommodation division Ferguson Modular will increase numbers of DNV 2.7-1 / NORSOK Z-15 certified workspace modules.

The Norwegian market is key for the Ferguson Group as it continues to expand the range of containers, accommodation and NORSOK-accredited workspace solutions it provides to the Norwegian sector. Its fleet of specialist refrigeration units, provided through the company's IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore, has also increased in the region.

Ferguson Norge's near-10,000m2 plot comprises a two-story office building, a workshop and a large yard with space to stock a greater number of products. To support the move and on-going growth, a new financial manager has been appointed and further technicians and office staff will be recruited as required to meet customer demand.

Steven Ferguson, Managing Director of the Ferguson Group, said, "We were delighted the local Mayor within Stavanger, Mr. Ueland, visited our new premises during the official opening. It is important to us that we continue to have the global infrastructure in place to support the worldwide operations of oil and gas operators and major service companies, and we have planned to achieve this through sustained investment to increase our fleet.

"At present, our asset rental fleet exceeds 15,000 units with a replacement value in excess of 1,340million NOK making us one of the biggest global suppliers and able to respond quickly to the demands of clients."

Haakon Andersen Chairman Ferguson Norge AS, said, "We have had excellent and consistent feedback from our existing customers in Norway that we provide high-quality equipment and services. By moving into the larger fit-for-purpose premises right in the center of the Norwegian oil and gas industry, we are able to continue to meet the requirements of new and existing customers in the region."

Ole Ueland, Mayor of Sola Kommune, said, "I am very pleased that Ferguson Norway has established its new building in Risavika. I know Ferguson as a solid, well-established and long-term business, and I am confident that the establishment contributes in a positive way to the construction of Risavika as one of the most important harbor areas in Norway."
