Vanco Exploration CEO Resigns
Vanco announced that Gene Van Dyke, President and CEO of Vanco Exploration Company, has elected to resign to pursue other opportunities.
"We want to thank Gene for his vast contributions as Vanco Founder and as President and CEO of Vanco Exploration Company," said Olga Plaksina, Chairperson of Vanco. "Gene has built an enduring legacy here. We wish him all the best in his new endeavors."
Vanco's board of directors has tapped COO Jeff Mitchell as interim CEO of Vanco Exploration Company until a long-term successor is identified. Mitchell joined Vanco in 2003 and has held a series of senior positions with increasing responsibility. He was appointed a director in 2006 and assumed the Chief Operating Officer role in 2009.
With more than 35 years of industry experience, Mitchell has an extensive background managing international exploration programs. His work has resulted in discoveries in Asia, Latin America, Europe and Africa. Before joining Vanco, Mitchell served in senior management positions with several companies, including Phillips Petroleum, Hamilton Brothers and BHP Petroleum.
