Aramark Wins Refurbishment Contract from Apache

The technical services division of Aramark has secured a £1.2 million refurbishment contract with Apache. Aramark will work with Apache to refurbish two levels of living accommodation on the Forties Charlie platform, which is about 110 miles to the east-north-east of Aberdeen.

Aramark Technical Services, which is based in Aberdeen, was officially launched in October 2002 with a team of eight to provide quality non-food services both offshore and onshore. Aramark now supplies all its own catering equipment and spare parts and the team has grown to 16. It is the only offshore facilities management company to provide an internal technical services department and the team services more than 50 remote locations.

Aramark also provides technical services to many energy operators clients, which specifically need a technical resource. Initially providing maintenance of catering and laundry equipment, the team is now working on a variety of projects including major accommodation refurbishment of cabins, offices, helicopter administration areas, freezer and cold room upgrades and portable appliance testing to meet legal requirements.

Clive Gregory, technical services manager at Aramark, said: "Our vision is to be the best and to provide a consistently high quality, total service solution. The technical services team has been an outstanding success since its launch last year and our aim is to further develop it and promote the services to clients across Scotland and the UK."
