Ireland Considers Rockall Basin Licensing Round for 2005
Irish Petroleum Ministry
|Friday, March 12, 2004
The exploration industry representative body in Ireland (IOOA) recently expressed a strong interest in the Rockall Basin licensing round. The Rockall Basin is located offshore Ireland. The Petroleum Affair Division strongly feels that new exploration opportunities must be provided to stimulate E&P activities in Ireland in the near to medium term.
The practicalities of holding a licensing round in 2005 are being examined. The Petroleum Development Authority will make its recommendation to the Energy Minister by the end of March.
