Sasol To Explore For Gas Offshore South Africa

Sasol Petroleum International is in negotiations with the Petroleum Agency of SA (Pasa) regarding offshore gas exploration rights in the Western Cape. Seismic acquisiton is expected within the next twelve months and then plans for exploration drilling would be determined by the results of the seismic data. Sasol has been studying data in offshore blocks 3A/4A provided by the Pasa in order to evaluate the gas potential of the area. This area has proven gas reserves.

Sasol would now like to replace its previous agreement with an Exploration and Production Agreement which will enable it to acquire further geological and geophysical data and conduction exploratory drilling.
