BGP Unveils New 3D Seismic Vessel
BGP announced the launching of a brand new 3D, 12 streamer seismic vessel, R/V BGP Prospector, at SEKWANG HEAVY INDUSTRY in Korea on September 2, 2011.
This vessel is built specifically for the high-end 3D marine seismic market with towing capacity of 12 streamers each at 8,000m long with 100m streamer separation. As BGP's flagship seismic vessel, it is equipped with the latest sophisticated technologies to provide advanced 3D marine seismic services to the oil and gas industry worldwide. It will be in service very soon.
The vessel is designed by LIoyds (NVC 830 CD) with an overall length of 100m and width of 24m. As one of the new NVC series with typical endurance of 80 days plus a cruising speed of 15 knots, the vessel complies with the most stringent industry standards. Furthermore, it is also one of the most environmentally friendly seismic vessels in the industry.
