Fellows Gets Approval to Begin CBM Project in Johns Valley

Fellows Energy has received exploration plan approval from the State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration to commence drilling operations on its 25,000-acre Johns Valley coal bed methane project. Fellows is now actively performing drill site surveys along with final permitting activities. Fellows is mobilizing to commence drilling as soon as final permitting is completed.

Preliminary exploration plans were prepared by Norwest Mine Services, Inc. of Salt lake City, Utah. Final plans were prepared by Fellows personnel and presented to SITLA for approval. Exploration plan approval paves the way to commence drilling following the completion of final permitting activities, which Fellows expects to accomplish expeditiously.

The first phase of drilling will include a four-well program testing the coal seams previously identified by predecessors on the project who drilled the area for its coal mining potential. Fellows will be the first to test the gas potential of the coal seams and their potential to yield economic coal bed methane production. Fellows' technical team that will operate the drilling program includes key personnel from the former River Gas Corporation technical team who drilled the successful Drunkard's Wash field in Carbon and Emery Counties, Utah.
