Nexen Gets Go-Ahead to Spin Bit in Norwegian Sea

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has given consent to Nexen Exploration Norge to drill exploratory well 6507/8-8 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The well will be drilled by the Songa Delta semisub in Production License 434. This will be the first well drilled in the permit, which was awarded on Feb. 16, 2007. Nexen operates the license, holding a 49% interest; Concedo holds 21%; Noreco holds 20%; and E.ON Ruhrgas Norge holds 10%.
