NPD Grants Statoil Drilling Permit in North Sea



The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil a drilling permit for well 30/11-8 S using the Ocean Vanguard semisub. Wildcat well 30/11-8 S is located about 12 miles (20 kilometers) southwest of the Oseberg Sor field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea in a water depth of 348 feet (106 meters). The production license consists of parts of Block 30/11 and was awarded in licensing round 2A in 1969. Statoil is the operator of the license, holding a 50% interest.
