OGX Advances 2011 Exploratory Campaign with Campos Basin Discovery
OGX found hydrocarbons in the Albian section of well 1-OGX-28D-RJS in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin. A hydrocarbon column of about 171 feet (52 meters) with nearly 79 feet (24 meters) of net pay was encountered in carbonate reservoirs in the Albian section.
The drilling of the OGX-28D well on the Illimani prospect is still in progress and is expected to reach an estimated final depth of 12,139 feet (3,700 meters). The Ocean Star semisub is drilling the well, which is located in the BM-C-41 block in 413 feet (126 meters) of water. OGX wholly owns and operates the well.SubseaIQ provides focused, in-depth coverage of offshore field development activities around the world, with daily updates on hundreds of offshore fields and facilities.
