Shetland Well Delivers for Total
Total has made a gas and condensate discovery in the Edradour exploration well in Block 206/4, about 47 miles (75 kilometers) northwest of Shetland in a water depth of 984 feet (300 meters). The well, drilled by Transocean's Sedco 714, reached a depth of more than 11,483 feet (3,500 meters) and encountered gas and condensate in a cretaceous reservoir with good petrophysical properties.
Data and samples were gathered. Once the appraisal phase is completed, the operator will launch a study to consider the development of these new resources through the Laggan and Tormore facilities. Total operates the license, holding a 75% interest; Dong holds the remaining interest.SubseaIQ provides focused, in-depth coverage of offshore field development activities around the world, with daily updates on hundreds of offshore fields and facilities.
