Clough Helix JV Clinches LOI for CACT Project Offshore China
The Clough Helix Joint Venture received a letter of intent for offshore installation support activities associated with the Huizhou field, offshore China. The scope of work encompasses project management, offshore installation engineering, and offshore construction services delivered from Clough's subsea construction vessel, Normand Clough.
The project encompasses the installation of a turret loading buoy and associated risers, mid-water arches, anchors, mooring chains and wire segments in a water depth of about 377 feet (115 meters). The work also includes recovering previously installed mooring lines. Engineering will commence immediately, with the Normand Clough mobilizing from Singapore after it has mounted a saturation diving spread associated to an existing well intervention program in China.
The Huizhou field is operated by the CACT Operators Group including CNOOC, Agip China BV, Chevron Overseas Petroleum Ltd., and Texaco China BV. The field is located about 118 miles (190 kilometers) southeast off the coast of Hong Kong. It is estimated the gas field will provide about 400 MMcf/d of natural gas, or enough to power 1.5 million homes.
