Lundin Petroleum failed to hit pay in exploratory well 16/7-9 on the Norall prospect, located in Block 16/7 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The vertical well, targeting reservoirs of Jurassic to Triassic age, reached a total depth of nearly 8,743 feet (2,665 meters) in the Triassic Smith Bank formation.

Norall is located in Production License 409 in a water depth of 256 feet (78 meters). Lundin Petroleum operates PL 409, holding a 70% interest. Partners on the license include Bayerngas Norge AS (20%), and Statoil ASA (10%).
